Community Wildfire Protection Plan Survey
Sugarloaf residents,
Thank you to those who have already participated in the brief survey on wildfire preparation and awareness concerns within the community. If you haven't had the chance to share your thoughts, please do, at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SSKTFCT
Your input will help direct a new partnership with surrounding fire districts.
Here are more details about the partnership:
Gold Hill, Sugarloaf, Four Mile and Sunshine Fire Districts are pleased to announce that the four districts are partnering together to produce a single, joint Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). The joint CWPP will allow us to define wildfire mitigation strategies and projects that span the four districts. This will also allow us to better compete for grants that are increasingly looking for larger, landscape scale mitigation projects.
CWPPs are expansive documents that analyze wildfire risk on a landscape scale, while also identifying specific hazards on a community level. The CWPP is essential in determining the most effective measures fire districts and communities can take to best engage in wildfire risk reduction, and to ensure that our communities are as prepared as possible when wildfires occur.
Your voice is essential to crafting the best CWPP possible, and we are asking all residents who live in the four districts to participate in a brief survey, so that you can share your thoughts and ideas about wildfire risk, and how our fire departments and communities should address that risk.
Stay tuned for more news and events as our districts move forward on this project. We will be hosting town hall events, community meetings, and sharing news and information as our progress continues.
If you have any questions about this project, or additional comments that you would like to share, please email the CWPP team at CWPP2022@gmail.com
Thank you, and we look forward to working with you to keep our communities safe!
